Pakistan suffered a heavy 19-0 defeat against India in the quarter-final of the 2026 Women’s Junior Asia Cup in Moqi, China, on Thursday, September 10. The result ended Pakistan’s run in the tournament, while India advanced to the semi-finals.
India took control early, with Puja Sahoo scoring the opening goal in the seventh minute. The Indian side continued to attack and went into half-time with a 10-0 lead.
India added nine more goals after the break. Pooja Malik was the top scorer, completing a hat-trick. Roshni Aind, Sanika Chandrakant Mane, Madhu Sidar and Supriya also scored twice each. In total, 13 Indian players found the net during the match.
India entered the knockout stage after finishing first in the elite pool. They had earlier defeated South Korea, Malaysia and Japan, while their final pool match against China ended in a goalless draw.
The defending champions are now set to face the winner of the South Korea and Malaysia quarter-final in the semi-final. India won the previous two editions in 2023 and 2024 and are aiming for a third consecutive title.
