Activation of Makkah Defence Pact? PM Shehbaz, Saudi Crown Prince to Meet as Regional Tension Escalate

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman have agreed to remain in close contact and meet soon as tensions continue to rise across the region.

The understanding was reached during a phone conversation between the two leaders, during which they discussed the evolving regional situation and the need for continued coordination between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned the recent Houthi attacks targeting Saudi Arabia’s civilian and economic infrastructure.

He expressed Pakistan’s solidarity with the Saudi leadership and people, reaffirming Islamabad’s support for the Kingdom’s security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.

The prime minister also reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to promoting peace, stability, and dialogue in the region.

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman appreciated Pakistan’s continued support and solidarity, highlighting the importance of close cooperation between the two countries during the current regional tensions.

The conversation comes as concerns over further escalation continue to grow, with both leaders emphasizing the importance of maintaining close communication and working toward regional peace and stability. The two sides are expected to remain engaged as developments unfold.
