Lahore’s District and Sessions Judge has directed judges and judicial officers not to use official markings or security accessories on vehicles provided to them under monetisation arrangements.
Under the directive, monetised vehicles must not carry green registration plates, blue lights, beacons, flashers or any other markings that could make them appear to be government vehicles.
The order also prohibits the display of Lahore High Court or Punjab District Judiciary logos, emblems, flags, stickers and wording that suggests the vehicle has an official status.
Judicial officers have further been barred from placing their titles, designations or other signs indicating their judicial positions on private vehicles.
The directive clarifies that once an official vehicle is monetised, it is treated as a completely private vehicle. As a result, it must not retain features that could identify it as belonging to the government or judiciary.
The decision aims to ensure a clear distinction between privately used vehicles and official government transport.
Judges and judicial officers have been directed to comply with the instructions, while any violations will be reported to the relevant authority for further action.
The order comes as part of efforts to regulate the use of monetised vehicles and prevent private cars from displaying symbols or equipment associated with official government or judicial status.
