The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has cancelled the 2,999-kanal layout plan for Bahria Town’s Phase III-E and Phase IV in Islamabad, citing alleged violations of the approved terms and conditions.
The authority stated that several mandatory requirements linked to the schemes’ No Objection Certificate (NOC) remained unfulfilled despite the passage of several years.
The CDA also raised concerns over alleged deviations from the approved layout plan and the use of areas designated for public amenities.
According to the authority, public amenity spaces, including parks, open spaces, playgrounds and areas reserved for public buildings, were allegedly not restored as required.
The CDA has also suspended the processing and approval of other pending cases involving Bahria Town, declaring the company a defaulter.
Its enforcement wing has been directed to take action against unauthorised structures and other works that are considered to be in violation of the approved plans and applicable regulations.
Bahria Town has rejected the CDA’s decision, calling the cancellation illegal and disputing the authority’s position.
The company has stated that it had submitted a revised layout plan for consideration and alleged that the CDA cancelled the existing approval instead of processing the revised plan.
Bahria Town has indicated that it will challenge the decision before the relevant legal forums, setting the stage for a further legal dispute over the development’s regulatory status.
