The federal government has increased the ex-depot price of petrol by Rs. 3.26 per litre, taking it to Rs. 390.66, while the price of high-speed diesel has been reduced by Rs. 1.01 to Rs. 399.34 per litre.
The revised prices will come into effect from October 2. The changes were announced following an assessment of international market conditions and their impact on domestic fuel pricing.
According to the Petroleum Division, the adjustments reflect movements in global Platts rates, premiums and other related costs.
The prices have been determined under the government’s existing petroleum pricing mechanism, which is implemented in coordination with the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority.
The latest revision means petrol consumers will face a higher ex-depot rate, while the reduction in the diesel price will provide some relief to users of high-speed diesel.
