Pakistan Customs has destroyed counterfeit and pirated products valued at around Rs. 315 million after carrying out multiple operations against the illegal trade of fake goods across the country.
The Directorate of Customs Intellectual Property Rights Enforcement disposed of the seized products as part of a coordinated crackdown. The confiscated items were destroyed through crushing and burning to prevent them from being returned to the market.
The destroyed goods included counterfeit industrial products, watches, footwear, clothing, cosmetics and pirated textbooks. Many of the products were reportedly carrying the names or trademarks of well-known international brands without authorization.
Customs officials said the action was aimed at preventing the circulation and sale of counterfeit and pirated products and protecting consumers as well as legitimate businesses. The latest operation also reflects continued efforts by Pakistani authorities to strengthen intellectual property rights enforcement and curb the illegal counterfeit trade.
