After Loss Against India, Silver Medals for the Pakistan Cricket Team at the Asian Games

Pakistan secured the silver medal in the men’s cricket competition at the 2026 Asian Games after losing to India by 19 runs in the final on Saturday, October 3, in Nisshin, Japan.

India, batting first, posted 211 for six in 20 overs. Abhishek Sharma led the scoring with 61 runs from 28 balls, while Tilak Varma remained unbeaten on 51 from 22 balls. Pakistan’s Arafat Minhas and Ahmed Daniyal took two wickets each.

Pakistan’s chase got off to a difficult start as the team fell to 39 for three. Hasan Nawaz then kept the innings alive with a strong 96 from 51 balls, including five fours and seven sixes. He was dismissed on the final ball, leaving Pakistan at 192 for six after 20 overs.

Saim Ayub supported Hasan with 29 runs, while Maaz Sadaqat scored 23. India’s Axar Patel, Washington Sundar and Shivam Dube took two wickets each.

The result gave India the gold medal, while Pakistan finished with silver and Sri Lanka took bronze.
