Lahore’s Intercity Transport Suspended; Bus Terminals Reportedly Sealed

Intercity bus services from Lahore were suspended on Sunday, October 11, 2026, after authorities reportedly sealed general bus terminals across the city. The disruption left passengers stranded and affected travel to several parts of Pakistan, including Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh, and southern Punjab.

Major private transport companies, including Faisal Movers and Daewoo, also stopped operating their services. Company representatives confirmed that buses were not being sent out because of the reported restrictions.

The suspension came amid political tensions and a protest call by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). The party has been organising a march to demand the release of its founder, Imran Khan.

However, a motorway police spokesperson said that motorways and highways remained open to traffic and that he had not received instructions to suspend bus services. Another official said buses were not operating because of the protest situation, while private vehicles could still use the roads.

The suspension caused difficulties for travellers whose tickets were cancelled. Passengers were advised to confirm service availability with transport companies before starting their journeys.
