‘Ahmed Is Innocent’, Azerbaijani Woman Withdraws R@pe Allegations Against Pakistani Man

Diana, an Azerbaijani woman involved in a case in Lahore, has reportedly stated that Ahmed Tanveer neither sexually assaulted her nor took her mobile phone.

She has requested that the case registered against him be closed, claiming in a video statement that her earlier allegations were made under pressure. Her latest statement has brought a new development to the case, as she has now denied the allegations previously associated with the incident.

Meanwhile, Ahmed Tanveer’s lawyer has alleged that police detained his client outside the Lahore Sessions Court despite an extension of his interim bail until October 27. According to the lawyer, the detention took place even though the court had extended the protective legal relief.

However, the investigating officer informed the court that the accused was not cooperating with the ongoing investigation.

The case has drawn attention following Diana’s latest statement and the competing positions presented by the defence and the investigating authorities.

While Diana has requested the closure of the case, the police have maintained concerns regarding the accused’s cooperation with the investigation.

Further legal proceedings are expected to determine how the court addresses the latest developments and the request for the case to be closed.
