England captain Harry Kane has won the 2026 Ballon d’Or, finishing ahead of Kylian Mbappe, Lamine Yamal, Rodri and Lionel Messi after a season that brought him 73 goals for club and country.
A domestic double with Bayern
The 33-year-old Bayern Munich forward struck 61 times in 51 appearances across all competitions. His goals helped Bayern claim both the domestic league title and the cup, pairing his individual scoring achievements with a double for the German club.
World Cup goals and an English milestone
Kane also scored six goals during England’s run to the World Cup semi-finals. His total across the season reached 73 goals when his club and international appearances were combined.
The Ballon d’Or victory makes Kane the first English player to receive the honour since Michael Owen in 2001. It caps a campaign that combined success at Bayern with a semi-final appearance for the national side.
