Pakistan is leading in achieving the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the UN

Pakistan is leading the way in achieving the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the UN, according to a report by the United Nations Sustainable Development Framework (UNSDF).

The report identified the economic growth of Pakistan as ‘inclusive’ and will ultimately benefit all people irrespective of their social context.

As a result of the equitable social development that economic growth will create; women, men, boys, girls and trans-genders will fulfill their potential with dignity and equal opportunity, the report added.

Moreover, the incumbent PTI government’s all-inclusive and focused policies will allow people to have access to quality services in the near future.

The report concluded that economic growth coupled with good governance will not only benefit the current generation, but also meet the needs of future generations.

In a statement, the United Nations reaffirmed its commitment to working at the grassroots level with the government of Pakistan to implement all SDGs and bring meaningful change to the region.

It committed itself to adhering to the principle of “leaving no one behind” and improving the living conditions of all the citizens of the country especially the most vulnerable, marginalized and disadvantaged sectors of society.
