Pakistani Rupee Gains For 235Th Straight Session, Closes at 277.37

The Pakistani rupee continued its steady rise against the US dollar on Tuesday, marking its 235th consecutive session of gains. The local currency closed at Rs277.37 in the interbank market, compared with Rs277.40 on Monday.

The rupee gained around three paisas during the session, extending a trend that has continued since December 25, 2025. The latest increase was small, but it shows that the currency has remained stable against the dollar for several months.

The rupee also strengthened against several other major currencies. It gained around 57 paisas against the euro and 40 paisas against the British pound. However, it weakened slightly against the Canadian dollar and Japanese yen.

Analysts continue to watch currency movements closely as global oil prices and international market conditions could affect Pakistan’s exchange rate.
