Jos Buttler’s unbeaten 71 and Chris Woakes’ brilliant bowling propelled England to an eight-wicket victory over Australia in the Twenty20 World Cup.
The Eoin Morgan-led side is closing in on a semi-final berth, and they are undefeated in Group 1 of the Super 12 stage, exactly like Pakistan, who are yet to drop a game in Group 2.
Each group’s top two teams will advance to the semi-finals.
If both England and Pakistan qualify for the semi-finals, they will almost certainly meet in the final.
