“I will try to mirror, what Shaheen Afridi did the other night against India”; Trent Boult.

When New Zealand takes on India in a key T20 World Cup match on Sunday, veteran fast bowler Trent Boult will try to “replicate” Pakistan spinner Shaheen Shah Afridi’s masterclass.

As Pakistan crushed India by 10 wickets last weekend, Shaheen, a left-arm paceman like Boult, whipped up a spellbinding early spell to eliminate Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul.

Boult, 32, has stated that he will strive to replicate that performance against Virat Kohli’s team in a game that is crucial to both teams’ chances of reaching the semi-finals.

“Watching Shaheen bowl from a left-armer the other night, I thought it was great,” Boult remarked.
