The popularity of solar-powered homes, battery-powered autos, and other renewable energy solutions has increased as a result of the desire to develop renewable energy solutions.
Scientists in the United Kingdom have developed a novel clean energy fuel cell capable of converting human excrement into electricity, which might usher in a new era of waste-to-energy generation.
A team of researchers from Bristol BioEnergy Centre created the innovative solution. The technology, dubbed “pee power,” was initially shown by the company at the Glastonbury festival two years ago.
The company is expecting to make progress on the technology so that it can be used to power entire households in the future.
Scientists demonstrated that urine may provide a consistent supply of low-wattage power at the Glastonbury festival in 2019. Lightbulbs, cellphones, and robotics can all be powered by the energy generated.
Dr Ioannis Ieropoulos, director of the Bristol BioEnergy Centre, revealed that the solution was able to create 300 watt-hours of electricity over the course of the five-day event, enough to power a single one-watt lightbulb for 300 hours or 10 lightbulbs for 30 hours.
