Pakistan hosts the entire Muslim Ummah on its Soil for the OIC Session after 41 years

H.E. Mr. Hissein Ibrahim Taha, Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, met with Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, H.E. Mr. Imran Khan, today, December 19, 2021, on the sidelines of the 17th Session of the OIC Council of Foreign Ministers, which was held in Islamabad, Pakistan’s capital city.

The two parties talked about the situation in Afghanistan and how important it is to mobilise efforts to provide support and help to the Afghan people, as well as immediate assistance to achieve security and stability.

The two sides also discussed the latest developments in the Jammu and Kashmir issue, as well as OIC efforts to support the Kashmiri people in their fight for legitimate rights, including the right to self-determination, which is enshrined in all Islamic Summit and CFM resolutions, as well as UN and International Security Council resolutions.

The two sides also discussed the rise of Islamophobia and discussed the OIC’s and Pakistan’s attempts to combat it.
