Pakistan Railways’ development budget for the upcoming fiscal year has been approved by the Senate Standing Committee on Railways at Rs. 46.3 billion.
On Monday, the Senate committee met in Parliament House, with Senator Muhammad Qasim in the chair.
The committee went over the Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) plan for 2022-23 and Pakistan Railways’ future strategies in great detail.
The committee was briefed on the strategy for the PSDP 2022-23, which included business development, rolling stock availability, and infrastructure development.
It was revealed that strong administration and revenue creation were at the heart of Pakistan Railways’ sustainability plan, and that the Ministry would go to great lengths to see that it was realised.
The committee was given a list of new and continuing projects, and it unanimously accepted the entire projected development budget of Rs. 46.3 billion for fiscal year 2022-23.
