A passenger on PIA flight PK-783 from Toronto to Toronto displayed indications of cardiac arrest mid-flight, prompting the plane to be diverted for medical reasons.
According to local media, a traveller named Syed Waseh was on his way to Canada from the country’s largest city when he complained of chest problems.
The plane then landed at Jinnah International Airport in Karachi, and Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) ambulances and a physician team took him to the hospital for treatment.
Meanwhile, the national flag carrier remained doubtful about the heart attack because medics found no evidence of cardiac arrest. All of the 33-year-reports old’s and scans were allegedly normal.
According to sources, the passenger was banned by PIA, which sustained losses of Rs12.5 million after having to de-fuel the jet and landing with only 100 tonnes in the fuel tank.
