During the outgoing week, cargo handling operations remained active at Karachi port and Port Qasim.
At Karachi port, where the share of imports and exports was 676,689 tonnes and 217,319 tonnes respectively, a combined amount of 894,017 tonnes was handled.
A total cargo volume of 862,621 tonnes was handled at Port Qasim, comprising 632,814 tonnes of imports and 229,843 tonnes of exports during the previous week.
Imported cargo consisted of steel coil, gas, palm oil, fuel, LNG, wheat, chemicals, project cargo and containerized cargo. Cement and containerized freight were included in the goods exported.
