The government has decreased the price of urea to Rs 1,769 per 50 kg bag, decreasing from the previous rate of Rs 1,900-2,000 till the 7th of July.
According to the notification, provinces and federal agencies are being authorised to give permission for the declaration of these rates to compensate for the extra cost of transportation in remote or inaccessible areas.
Sunny Kumar from Topline Securities stated that till the 27th of May, the concerned producers, dealers, or importers are allowed to provide their views and observations, including the necessary papers, statistics, and information, on the fertiliser workers’ current increase in the price.
According to his statement, Fauji Fertiliser, Agritech, and Fatima Fertiliser raised the prices of urea by Rs165 per bag from the start of March, whereas Engro Fertiliser increased the rates by Rs249 because of market pressures.
