As per sources, Quetta Customs has declared a crackdown on non-custom paying vehicles in the Balochistan capital and Afghan border areas in the coming months.
Action will also be taken against car showrooms involved in trade of NCP cars, according to customs officials.
As per Balochistan customs chief collector, first information reports (FIRs) will be filed over possession of non-custom-paid vehicles. The action is being taken in response to federal government and federal ombudsman directives.
The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) reported on February 21 that non-custom paid vehicles worth Rs. 11.2 billion were seized between July and January. During the period July-January 2020/2021, a total of Rs. 35 billion in smuggled goods was confiscated, compared to Rs22 billion in the previous year’s corresponding period.
