British Airways has debuted a new uniform for the first time in almost 20 years. Jumpsuits will be permitted for female cabin personnel, which the business calls “an airline first.” According to a press release from the corporation, the airline has also provided a tunic and hijab option for female cabin personnel.
Ozwald Boateng, a British fashion designer, spent five years overhauling the flag carrier’s business dress.
The pandemic of the coronavirus caused a two-year delay. Women can choose to wear a dress, skirt, or pants instead of a jumpsuit, while males can choose to wear a fitted three-piece suit. The international airline has also provided a tunic and hijab option for its staff.
“Our uniform is an iconic expression of our brand, something that will carry us into our future, showcasing the very best of modern Britain and helping us deliver a fantastic British original service for our customers,” said Sean Doyle, chairman, and CEO of British Airways.
Added, “This has always been about our people, from the beginning. With the assistance of more than 1,500 coworkers, we are certain that we were able to produce a uniform line that our employees are happy to wear.”
