One of the leading petroleum exploration and production corporations in the nation, Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL), informed the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Monday that gas reserves had been found at Rayyan-1, an exploratory well in the Kirthar Block (2667-7) in Dadu, Sindh.
The Polish Oil and Gas Company, PKN Orleen Pakistan Branch (POGC), which has a 70% working interest in the Kirthar Block, and its joint venture partner PPL, who has a 30% working interest, jointly operate the block.
“Rayyan-1 was spud-in on December 5th, 2022, and drilled to a depth of approximately 2.446 metres. A drill stem test (DST) was carried out at the said well, and the well initially flowed at 7.8 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscfd) of gas with a wellhead flowing pressure (WHFP) of 1,920 pounds per square inch (Psi) at a 28/64″ choke size,” read the statement to the PSX.
Rayyan-1 successfully completed and concluded the completion integrity test.
“Accordingly, a frac job was conducted, and the well flowed at a rate of 12.88 mmscfd gas at a WHFP of 3,190 psi at a 64″ choke size,” it added. Moreover, PPL said that the latest discovery will add to its hydrocarbon reserves.
