Enam Ahmed Sets Third Fastest Time at World Famous Indianapolis Motor Speedway

Formula driver Enaam Ahmed, a British-Pakistanian, set the third-fastest time during the morning session at the illustrious Indianapolis Motor Speedway road circuit. Some of the top racers compete on the 2.4-mile road circuit in Indianapolis, which has 14 bends. Brands and organisations only use top racers to operate vehicles on these peculiar circuits.

The test was conducted in advance of the Firestone Indy NXT Championship Round 2. The day began with a chilly morning, which caused a one-hour delay and forced the cancellation of lunch.

Twenty drivers started racing as soon as the action began. Ahmed was competing in a series against more seasoned drivers, which made his third-best time of 1:14.86 all the more remarkable. The fastest time of 1:14.62 was set by Hunter McElrea of New Zealand.

According to Ahmed, who spoke with this reporter, Pakistani professionals stationed in the US are encouraging him to compete in the Indianapolis 500, the greatest spectacle in racing, in 2024. He said his upcoming race would occur at Birmingham, Alabama’s Barber Motorsports Park on April 30.

Ahmed has broken the records of Formula One driver’s Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen by being the first and only Pakistani to win a World Championship in Karting.

Furthermore, Ahmed broke Ayrton Senna’s record by winning 13 races in a single season, becoming the first high-level Formula Championship champion in Pakistani history, winning the British Formula 3 Championship, and more.

Because of his reputation as the most successful British Formula 3 driver in history, the teenager is also the most successful racing driver of Pakistani descent in motorsport history.

Ahmed, raised in London by Pakistani parents, became interested in racing when he was eight. His parents began supporting his interest by enrolling him in kid-friendly local Go-Karting courses, but they had no idea that their son would grow up to win the European and World Championships at the age of 14 – one year before Lewis Hamilton, who was 15, the time.
