Adequate Amount of Water Intake

We have all heard the adage “Drinking 8 glasses of water a day is necessary for health” for a very long time. However, is it real or not? Few individuals are aware of it.

It is true that water aids in a number of bodily functions, including maintaining fluid and electrolyte balance, regulating body temperature, transporting nutrients, removing waste, and lubricating joints and tissues. It is crucial in keeping the delicate balance in place as well. There is no disputing, however, that different people will require different amounts of water depending on their age, gender, and degree of exercise. We cannot just say that 8 glasses of water a day is enough because of your daily diet, surroundings, activity, and other considerations.

According to research, you can consume a lot of water if you consume foods like celery, oranges, strawberries, melons, and cucumbers. All foods are hydrating, which may actually encourage you to drink more water.

The National Academy of Science, Engineering, and Medicine estimates that males consume 125 ounces of water on a daily basis and women 91 ounces on average.

According to the study, water consumption habits vary widely around the globe, with some people consuming 4 glasses daily and others consuming 25.

The study also showed that those who live in mountainous or hot and humid climates require more water. Athletes, pregnant women, and nursing mothers should all consume extra water.

In other words, increasing one’s water intake is neither dangerous nor advantageous; rather, one should adjust their water intake to suit their thirst and environmental needs.
