Harry Tector, a 23-year-old cricketer from Ireland, has won the ICC Men’s Player of the Month award for May 2023. This is a significant achievement for Ireland, as it is their first Men’s Player of the Month award.
Tector had tough competition from Babar Azam of Pakistan and Najmul Hossain Shanto of Bangladesh.During the first ODI against Bangladesh in Chelmsford, Tector was unbeaten at 21 runs before the match was interrupted by rain.
However, in the second ODI, he played an outstanding innings, scoring 140 runs from just 113 balls. He hit seven fours and an incredible 10 sixes, which is the most in his career so far.
