New students enrolling in Punjab’s public-sector medical and dental colleges will pay an annual fee of Rs50,000 for MBBS and BDS programmes this year. The fee has increased from the previous Rs15,000, marking a rise of Rs35,000 or more than 233%.
The change will apply to incoming students pursuing medical and dental education at public-sector institutions across the province.
However, students who are already enrolled in these programmes will continue to pay the previous annual fee of Rs15,000.
This means the revised fee structure will affect only new admissions, while existing students will retain their current fee arrangements.
The increase represents a significant change in the cost of public-sector medical and dental education for students beginning their studies this year.
