IT Industry Reports a Growth of 43.61%

In comparison to the corresponding time, July-March 2019-20, when IT exports remittances inflow totaled $1.052 million, the Information Technology and Telecommunication Industry has grown by 43.61 percent.

According to the survey, Pakistan’s ICT export remittances, which include telecommunication, electronic, and information services, increased to $1.512 billion from July to March 2020-21, maintaining the country’s track record of consistent growth in export remittances inflows.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Software Export Board (PSEB), which is part of the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunications, has launched a comprehensive project aimed at improving the quality and capability of Pakistan’s IT professionals.

As per a press release, the project will strengthen IT professionals’ skill sets by providing training in cutting-edge technology such as machine learning, blockchain, e-commerce management, digital marketing, penetration testing, and mean/full stack growth.

PSEB will also help in securing international certifications such as AWS certified solution architect, CCNA, CEH, and Computer Hacking Forensic Investigator.

Osman Nasir, Managing Director of Pakistan Software Export Board, said that the program is completely free for IT graduates and employees of public sector organizations, while Pakistan Software Export Board will cover 90% of the cost of training and certification for private sector IT professionals.
