Watch Video: ICC Men’s World Cup 2023 Trophy Launched into Space

The International Cricket Council (ICC) made a grand start to the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Trophy Tour 2023 by sending the legendary World Cup trophy 120,000 feet up into the stratosphere. The trophy was attached to a special balloon and launched into space, creating a remarkable spectacle. After its adventurous journey, the trophy arrived at the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad.

The tour will officially commence on Tuesday with the release of the World Cup schedule in Mumbai. Over the next few months, the trophy will visit 18 countries, including Pakistan, Kuwait, Bahrain, Malaysia, the United States, France, Italy, and the host nation India.

It’s worth noting that due to the restrictions imposed by the coronavirus pandemic in previous years, this is the first complete Trophy Tour since 2019, allowing fans worldwide to have an up-close experience with the coveted trophy.

During the balloon’s ascent, around 4,000 cameras were attached to capture videos of the trophy at the edge of the Earth’s atmosphere. This extraordinary footage adds to the excitement and anticipation surrounding the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup.
