The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Assembly has enacted a number of resolutions, including restoring Friday as a public holiday, prohibiting insults to the Companions and the Ahle-Bait, and condemning those accused of blasphemy against the Companions and the Ahle-Bait to death or life imprisonment.

The government and members of the opposition in the KP Assembly unanimously demanded the issuance of lifelong privileges and blue passports for all members of the provincial legislature, the restoration of Friday as a public holiday, the prohibition of insults to the Companions and the Ahle-Bait, the death penalty or life imprisonment for blasphemy, and the declaration of Saraiki.

Recently, the parliament unanimously passed a resolution designating Friday as the weekly day off rather than Sunday, emphasizing the importance of Jumah Mubarak in Islam as the most important of all holidays.
