WWF’s Brilliant Marketing Strategy, Using Twitter Rebrand to Highlight Threat of Animal Extinction

The World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), a well-known conservation group, used Twitter’s logo change to highlight the problems real bird species are facing. Birds around the world are in danger due to climate change, habitat loss, illegal wildlife trade, and overfishing. In North America alone, 3 billion birds have disappeared since the 1970s.

WWF took advantage of Twitter’s logo news and posted a tweet to their 3.8 million followers, saying that Twitter’s bird isn’t the only one disappearing. They mentioned that one in eight bird species is at risk of extinction. They asked people to retweet their message to spread awareness about bird conservation.

The tweet gained a lot of views and helped raise awareness about the importance of protecting birds and their habitats.
