No ‘Special Treatment’ to Pakistan in ICC Cricket World Cup 2023: India

As the ICC Cricket World Cup is to begin soon in India, The Indian Ministry of External Affairs has stated that Pakistan’s national cricket team will not receive any special privilege and will be treated on par with any other team participating in the World Cup.

Arindam Bagchi, the spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs, affirmed, “The Pakistan cricket team will be treated just like the cricket team of any other country participating in the ICC World Cup.”

The announcement from Arindam Bagchi followed Pakistan’s government approval for their cricket team’s participation in the upcoming tournament. He further emphasized that equal security arrangements will be extended to all participating nations, not solely Pakistan.

Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari resonated with the sentiment, highlighting Pakistan’s commitment to sports without any involvement in politics. The approach highlights Pakistan’s decision to take part in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 scheduled to commence on October 5 in Ahmedabad.
