The recent heavy rains in Makkah created an emergency situation and videos of the clock tower being struck by lightning and pilgrims outside the Haram braving the stormy winds have surfaced.
Recently, during a conversation with the British news agency (BBC), a woman told about the situation she witnessed during the storm.
A woman named Saima Jabbar told the BBC that ‘We have seen so many storms in our life, but we have not seen such a storm. The people who were here at the time of the storm also said that they have not seen such a storm in Makkah. The storm was so strong that people standing on the ground were moving around, rain was coming from all sides, we had never seen such a scene before’.
Saima said that “during the heavy and stormy rain, our family was hugging the Kaaba and crying and praying and the scene after the rain was something else”.
It should be noted that two days ago there was heavy rain with thunder in other areas including Makkah, which flooded the roads in most areas while pilgrims who came for Umrah also faced some difficulties. Clock tower in which the scene of lightning is fascinating.
