BCCI President Confirms Pakistan Visit during Asia Cup 2023

The President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Roger Binny, has confirmed his visit to Pakistan as a representative of the BCCI for an official dinner organized by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) in Lahore.  

The occasion has been arranged in honor of Pakistan’s role as the host of a significant cricket tournament. Roger Binny disclosed that he, alongside Vice President Rajiv Shukla, will embark on a journey to Pakistan on September 4. During their two-day visit, they may also attend a match at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium on September 3 or 5.

The PCB’s Chairman, Zaka Ashraf, extended an official invitation to the top leadership of the BCCI on August 15. Representatives from all participating teams, including the BCCI, have confirmed their participation in the event.

Binny expressed his willingness to travel to Pakistan, highlighting his positive past experiences there and the hospitable nature of the Pakistani populace. He expressed his optimism that his visit would contribute to improving cricket ties between India and Pakistan.

He also emphasized the profound value of cricket encounters between India and Pakistan, stating that these matches hold great significance and garner more viewership than the popular Ashes series.
