Foodpanda Rider’s Viral Picture of Sleeping on Footpath after the delivery of Order leaves Pakistanis Sadden

Foodpanda is the biggest online food delivery service that has thousands of employees who are working as riders for delivering food in Pakistan. However, recently a picture of a rider sleeping on the footpath has gone viral on internet that has made the whole nation sorrow as how the hard-work of these riders are neglected and they ended up with have nothing but very low salary.

The riders of Foodpanda only get Rs.30 for each delivery; however, they deliver over 20 orders per day and get salary of Rs.10,000 to Rs.15,000 per month. This salary is below then the basic salary level but these riders serve the nation with full responsibility by delivering the orders on time.

In this hot summer seasons riders have been found to perform their 10 to 12 hours duty where they hardly get free time as the continuous chain of delivering orders remain in work 24/7.

The rider whose picture is rolling on the social media sites has been captured by a local person who saw a boy wearing the uniform of Foodpanda’s rider that was all dirty as the person was laying on the footpath under the scotching sun at Numaish Chowrangi, Karachi.

The person who captured the picture talked to the rider and according to his statement, “Firstly, I thought he might have an accident but after seeing him closely I get to know that he was sleeping and repeating that ‘Sir I had taken the order, it was not my fault’. I tried to ask him more, but he remained slept so I left him as it was.”

This statement by the rider has traumatized every citizen and has made everyone understand that we all should treat the riders with all due respect and must try to be nice with them while not affecting their mental health for any late delivery or wrong order.

According to the comments of users on social media, Riders are also human and they just perform their jobs; however, every human can make errors but we all should give them a chance rather than bashing them by using harsh comments, this is what least we can do with these hard working people.
