Pakistan Team Returns To Lahore For Asia Cup Super 4s Match

After facing India yesterday in the ongoing Asia Cup match, the Pakistan cricket team departed Kandy for Colombo by road this morning and will arrive in Lahore via chartered flight today ahead of Wednesday’s Super Four stage match.

The Pakistan team leave Colombo at 4:00 PM today, take Monday off, and then practice at the Lahore City Cricket Association (LCCA) Ground on Tuesday, September 5 before playing in the Asia Cup Super Four stage match at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore on Wednesday, September 6.

A member of the team will address the media before the start of the practice session.

Assuming they advance to the following round, Pakistan will play either Bangladesh or Afghanistan on September 6 for their first Super 4 match.

Today in Lahore, Pakistan, at Gaddafi Stadium, Bangladesh and Afghanistan will be competing. Since Bangladesh lost their previous game against the defending champions Sri Lanka, a loss tonight would eliminate them from the Asia Cup.

Alternatively, Pakistan advanced to the Asia Cup 2023 Super Four stage yesterday after finishing their group stage campaign with three points in two matches after a resounding victory over Nepal and a postponed encounter against bitter rivals India.

But before they can join Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2023 Super 4s, India must first defeat Nepal on September 4.

Ishan Kishan and Hardik Pandya both scored half centuries, but persistent rain called an end to yesterday’s high-octane Asia Cup battle with Pakistan having booked India on 266 in their first innings.
