A project to renovate 8,360 schools has begun

Under the “Insaaf Afternoon Schools Programme,” the Punjab Ministry of Education has formally initiated a programme to improve 8,360 schools across the state.

The project will cost Rs6.5 billion, according to a notice from the provincial education ministry. 20,000 school instructors will be hired on a temporary basis as interns as part of the scheme.

Middle classes will be taught in primary schools during the evening shift, higher classes will be taught in middle schools, and upper secondary classes will be taught in high schools as part of the programme.

Female instructors will be recruited between the ages of 20 and 55, while male teachers will be recruited between the ages of 20 and 50. The minimal qualification for teachers with second division has been imposed at matriculation and up to graduation.

The project will begin in Gujranwala, Dera Ghazi Khan, Rahim Yar Khan, Sialkot, Mianwali, and Rajanpur in the initial phase.

The scope of the project will be expanded in the second phase to include all 36 districts of Punjab.

Village schools will receive special attention as part of the project. These schools will have a total of 3 million to 3.5 million students enrolled. Students will receive a free education, as well as free books and admittance.
