Meta has announced multiple new features and tools for its users on Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger, and Facebook, with a focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology. Mark Zuckerberg, the CEO of Meta, unveiled these features during the Meta Connect 2023 event.
One of the key highlights is “Meta AI” (Digital Assistant), which functions similarly to a chat-based AI digital assistant like Siri or Google Assistant. This digital assistant can respond to user queries and provide real-time information by accessing Microsoft’s Bing search engine.
Meta AI will be available on WhatsApp, Messenger, and Instagram, leveraging Meta’s large language model, Llama 2. This will allow users to interact with the digital assistant in various languages and receive personalized responses.
Additionally, Meta is introducing 28 AI avatars based on well-known personalities, which will be accessible on WhatsApp, Messenger, and Instagram. Users can engage in conversations with these avatars on various topics.
Meta also announced the gradual development of user-created digital assistants, although this feature may take some time to become available to users.
Another exciting feature is AI Image Editing in Instagram, where users can modify image backgrounds and styles using Meta’s new generation model called Emo. This tool is expected to generate image alterations in just five seconds.
Furthermore, the AI Stickers feature, powered by Emo, allows users to create stickers based on text instructions in a matter of seconds. This feature will be available in WhatsApp, Instagram Messenger, and Facebook Stories starting in October.
These developments showcase Meta’s ongoing commitment to enhancing user experiences across its platforms through AI and innovative technologies.
