Abdul Razzaq Names Three Players who can Replace Babar Azam as Test Captain

Former Pakistani all-rounder Abdul Razzaq has put forward three potential candidates to replace Babar Azam as the Test cricket captain for Pakistan. While speaking on the show “Haarna Mana Hay,” Razzaq suggested that Sarfaraz Ahmed, Mohammad Rizwan, and Shan Masood could be suitable options for the captaincy role.

He emphasized that a captain should not only be a skilled cricketer but also a good person who can effectively lead and take care of the players.

Babar Azam took over as the captain of the Pakistan Test cricket team in 2020, succeeding Azhar Ali. During his tenure, Babar has led Pakistan in 20 Test matches, with 10 wins, 6 losses, and 4 draws.

However, his captaincy has faced criticism, especially during the ongoing ICC World Cup 2023, where Pakistan is on the verge of being eliminated from the tournament.

To secure a spot in the World Cup semi-finals, Pakistan needs to win their remaining three matches and hope for favorable results in other matches. Their upcoming matches are against Bangladesh, New Zealand, and England.

The current Pakistan squad for the ICC World Cup 2023 is led by Babar Azam and includes a mix of experienced and young players. However, the debate over the captaincy continues, with suggestions like Abdul Razzaq’s adding to the discussion about potential leadership changes in the Test format.
