Two countries, the UAE and South Africa, are being considered as potential hosts for some matches of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season nine next year.
This consideration arises due to the general elections in Pakistan scheduled for February 8, 2024, within the window of PSL’s upcoming season, which spans from February 8 to March 24, 2024.
While the majority of franchises advocate for holding the entire event in Pakistan, the final decision on the schedule and venues is expected to be made in a governing council meeting in Lahore. The meeting, headed by PCB Management Committee Chairman Zaka Ashraf, includes representatives from all six PSL franchises.
The PSL Draft is tentatively scheduled for mid-December, and the PCB has opened the registration window for foreign players, with categories for local players also renewed. Franchises will submit relegation requests for players before finalizing retentions, and players may be relegated to a category below their base category if not matched.
