UAE Announces Public Holidays for 2024

The UAE Cabinet has outlined the holidays for both the public and private sectors in 2024. This decision aims to enhance the organization of work in these sectors, providing residents with a clear schedule to plan vacations, travel, and personal activities. This is anticipated to have a positive impact on the national economy.

The specified holidays include New Year’s Day on January 1, 2024; Eid Al Fitr from Ramadan 29 to the 3rd day of Shawwal; Arafa Day on Dhu Al Hijjah 9; Eid Al Adha from Dhu Al Hijjah 10 to 12; Islamic New Year on Muharram 1, 1446 AH; Prophet Mohammed’s birthday on Rabi Al Awwal 12, 1446 AH; and UAE National Day on December 2 and 3, 2024.

It’s worth noting that the official dates for these holidays will be confirmed closer to the events based on moon-sighting to determine corresponding Islamic calendar dates. This approach is common for Islamic holidays that follow the lunar calendar.
