According to a news report, On Saturday, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) released numbers regarding the progress logged in Roshan Digital Account (RDA) showing “record inflows in June” as it says since beginning the project have assembled 181,556 until now.
In its press conference, the central bank released RDA progress data and stated that the accounts have been opened from 171 different countries & account for US$ 1.562 billion in deposits so far.
It stated that SBP from today has started releasing data on regular basis for the progress of Roshan Digital Account (RDA in line with “the commitment to transparency in main policy measures.”
The data has been collected and combined on basis of individual reports of RDA member banks & has been made available to the public through a new web page.
As per SBP statement, “This web page will be updated on a monthly basis. This periodic update was also requested by market participants,”.
It said in today’s report that June 2021 saw the highest monthly number of deposits, US$ 310 million, while Naya Pakistan Certificates (NPC) reserves stood US$ 233 million since the RDA launch.
As of end-June 2021, USD 1050 million has been invested in NPCs, with USD621 million in conventional NPCs & USD429 million in Islamic NPCs.
