After Cricket, Pakistan Hockey Federation Decides to Appoint Foreign Coaches for Hockey Team

In a move reminiscent of cricket, the Hockey Federation has followed suit by opting for a foreign head coach. Recently elected President Tariq Bugti intends to discuss hockey matters with the Prime Minister after Eid, with Roelant Oltmans emerging as a leading candidate to assist the Pakistan Hockey Team.

President PHF Tariq Bugti has confirmed communication with Oltmans, highlighting that Pakistani coaches will collaborate with their foreign counterparts to address player weaknesses. The inclusion of foreign coaches is expected to improve team performance by utilizing their expertise in modern hockey techniques.

The national team’s training camp for the Azlan Shah hockey tournament is scheduled to commence on April 15 in Islamabad, with invitations extended to 44 players. The final selection of players is imminent.

Displaying determination, Tariq Bugti aims to elevate Pakistan to the ranks of the top six hockey teams globally within the next two years. He has pledged the team’s active participation in all forthcoming events.
