According to The Next Web, Vocalis Health has created an AI-based software that recognizes voice characteristics of patients with different diseases, like COVID-19, without requiring them to visit a hospital or placing a stress on local healthcare systems.
It’s described as “a highly scalable COVID-19 screening tool” by the company.
Where other screening techniques, such as temperature arms, fail to detect asymptotic patients, Vocalis’ solution can be useful. Vocalis gathers a lot of information about a person’s speech.
The company’s algorithm extracts 512 features from a voice sample and creates a spectrogram, which it uses to diagnose diseases.
