Amara Athar, a police officer with the rank of BS-19, has become the first woman to be appointed as the Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) of Lahore.
This change is part of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr. Usman Anwar’s effort to give more important roles to female officers, challenging the tradition of mostly having male police officers.
Amara Athar takes over from the retired Capt Mustansar Feroz and is the fourth woman police officer assigned to Lahore.
This decision shows the IGP’s dedication to having more diversity in leadership positions within the police force and recognizing the accomplishments of female officers.
