U.S. special envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner are scheduled to visit Pakistan on Saturday for high-level discussions related to Iran, according to the White House. The visit is seen as part of ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at exploring possible avenues of communication between Washington and Tehran, with Pakistan potentially serving as a facilitating channel for dialogue.
At the same time, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has arrived in Pakistan on an official visit. However, Iranian semi-official media has denied reports suggesting that he will engage in any direct talks with U.S. officials during his stay. Instead, it has clarified that his meetings will be limited to discussions with Pakistani leadership and officials.
The overlapping visits have drawn attention internationally, fueling speculation about possible indirect diplomatic coordination, although both sides have so far avoided confirming any formal engagement between U.S. and Iranian representatives.
