A new airline has entered Pakistan’s domestic aviation market. South Air will begin its scheduled commercial operations with an inaugural flight from Karachi to Islamabad on July 16, 2026. This marks an important addition to the country’s air travel options.
The airline has already opened bookings. One-way fares start from around Rs 14,000. The flight will use a reliable ATR 72 aircraft and include a stop in Bahawalpur. Total travel time will be about 4 hours and 10 minutes. The early response has been very positive, with Economy Premium seats selling out quickly before the first flight.
South Air aims to improve connectivity across Pakistan. It plans to link big cities with smaller or underserved destinations. By adding stops like Bahawalpur, the airline hopes to boost travel and business opportunities in southern Punjab and other regions.
The launch comes at a time when domestic air travel is growing in Pakistan. More airlines mean better choices for passengers and hopefully lower fares due to competition. South Air positions itself as a tourism-focused carrier that can support regional development.
Passengers can book tickets through the airline’s official website. Details on schedules and baggage options are available online.
