Another Burden on Public, Electricity became More Expensive

Another burden of inflation has been put on the public, Nepra has increased the price of electricity by 34 paise per unit for one month, consumers will have to pay Rs 2 billion 90 crore.

Nepra has approved the Central Power Purchasing Agency’s request to increase the price of electricity, electricity has been increased by 34 paisa per unit for one month, consumers will have to pay extra in the May bill.

According to Nepra, the increase will put a burden of 2 billion 90 crore rupees on the electricity consumers.

The Central Power Purchasing Agency had filed a request for an increase of Rs 17 paise per unit in March fuel adjustment.

Nepra approved the increase of 33 paise after a hearing, the power division has already opposed the request.
