Apple Created 1 Lac Jobs in India: Report

Apple’s vendors and component suppliers have created 100,000 jobs in India’s electronics sector through the smartphone Production Linked Incentive scheme (PLI).

The scheme began in August 2021, and 60% of the new jobs came from Foxconn Hon Hai, Pegatron, and Wistron. These vendors surpassed their second-year job creation target by providing 7,000 jobs. Moreover, Apple to ship iPhone 15 models from India, reflecting increasing production in the country. Additionally, Apple CEO Tim Cook recently visited the country and inaugurated the company’s first store in Mumbai.

Apple’s investment promotes local manufacturing, incentivizing production in India and strengthening the country’s economy and technology industry.
