Facebook to Give $725 Million to its Users as Settlement for Privacy lawsuit, Here’s How to Claim Yours

Facebook settled a lawsuit by agreeing to pay $725 million to users who had an active U.S. Facebook account between May 2007 and December 2022.

Users have until August 25th to submit a claim for a portion of the settlement. The amount of payouts will depend on how many users submit claims and the length of time each user had a Facebook account.

To make a claim, users can visit Facebookuserprivacysettlement.com and provide their name, address, email address, and confirmation of U.S. residency and Facebook activity during that time.

However, Facebook did not admit any wrong doing, and issued the following statement instead:

We pursued a settlement as it’s in the best interest of our community and shareholdersCompany’s Spokesperson
